    QuantityIngredientAdd
5 medium-large crisp tart apples, such as McIntosh, Empire, Granny Smith or Cortland, peeled and thinly sliced (about 6 cups)
    3 tbsp. Hy-Vee granulated sugar
    1 tbsp. Hy-Vee lemon juice
1 tsp. ground Hy-Vee cinnamon, divided
    ⅔ c. Hy-Vee whole wheat flour
    ½ c. Hy-Vee old-fashioned rolled oats
    ½ c. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar
2 tbsp. Hy-Vee unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
    2 tbsp. Hy-Vee canola oil
2 tbsp. frozen Hy-Vee apple juice concentrate, thawed
    ⅓ c. Hy-Vee English walnut pieces

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat an 8-inch square (or 2-quart) baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
    2. In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Toss to coat.
    3. Pour apples into prepared baking dish; cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
    4. Meanwhile, combine whole wheat flour, oats, brown sugar and remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl. Cut in butter until evenly distributed mixture forms coarse crumbs.
    5. Stir in oil, apple juice concentrate and nuts; toss until evenly moistened.
    6. Remove foil from the baking dish and sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
    7. Bake uncovered until the topping has browned and the fruit is soft and bubbling, about 30 minutes more.
    8. Cool before serving.
