    2 (10-oz. each) jars Hy-Vee maraschino cherries with stems
    1 c. Kentucky bourbon whiskey
    ¼ (24-oz.) pkg. vanilla almond bark
    Blue coarse sanding sugar, for garnish

    Directions

    1. Drain cherry juice from maraschino cherry jars keeping cherries in jars. Place ½ cup whiskey into each jar. Cover and refrigerate overnight or up to 24 hours.

    2. Drain bourbon from cherries, reserving for another use, if desired. Pat cherries dry with paper towels. Line a large baking sheet with wax paper; set aside.

    3. Melt almond bark according to package directions. Dip 2/3 of the cherry in almond bark allowing excess to drip off of cherry. Immediately dip bottom 1/3 of cherry in blue coarse sanding sugar. Place on prepared sheet pan until chocolate has set. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 4 hours before serving.
