  1. Vitamin C

    As in "C" ya later, flu bugs. Foods rich in vitamin C and antioxidants may help keep the sniffles, sneezes, and flu bugs at bay. Try these produce items that are high in vitamin C: guavas, bell peppers, kiwifruit, strawberries, oranges, papayas, broccoli, tomatoes, kale, and snow peas.    

  2. Probiotics

    Interesting, good bacteria can help keep bad bacteria away. Probiotics are considered good bacteria that can help support a healthy immune system. You can find them in yogurt and in fermented drinks and foods such as kombucha and kimchi.

  3. Vitamin D

    This fat-soluble vitamin plays a major role in bone health and immune function. While you can get the majority of the vitamin D you need from sunlight, you can also get it from foods like salmon, canned tuna, mushrooms, fortified cereal, and eggs (from the yolks).

  4. Zinc

    You might not hear a lot about zinc, but this important mineral helps keep your immune system strong and inflammation at bay. Foods high in zinc include beef, chicken, pork, mushrooms, fortified breakfast cereals, oatmeal, and yogurt.
