For casual or special occasions, we love the look of this flowing cascade braid for medium-length or long hair. We'll show you how to do this French Waterfall Braid in 3 steps.

Directions

  1. First, part your hair on the side. At the part of the thicker side, gather an approximately 2-inch-wide section and start a basic braid by crossing the top third over the middle third, then the bottom third over the middle third.

  2. Continue braiding, incorporating more hair into the top and bottom sections as you go, to create a French braid. Keep French braiding until you reach the back of your head.

  3. Once you reach the back of your head, stop French braiding and start a regular braid. Pin the end of the braid against the head and pull the rest of your hair over hairpin to hide it.
