Description

The Teal Pumpkin Project was launched in 2014 by Food Allergy Research & Education to ensure kids with food allergies enjoy a safe and fun Halloween.

  1. What does a teal pumpkin mean?

If you see a teal pumpkin on someone's doorstep, that means they are handing out non-food items to trick-or-treaters. This is especially meaningful for kids with food allergies.

  2. How Can I Participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project?

    Teal Pumpkin Project Logo

It's easy. Just paint or decorate a pumpkin with teal colors and place it on your doorstep. You can also put a sign with the Teal Pumpkin Project Logo. Download the logo at www.foodallergy.org

  3. What Kind of Non-Food Items Should I Hand Out?

    Pumpkin Light-Up Bracelet

Look for Halloween-themed stickers, stencils, bookmarks, spider rings, pencils, notepads, bubbles, glow sticks, and more.

  4. Can I Still Pass Out Candy?

Sure. Just play it safe by keeping food and non-food items in separate containers. Then you can give trick-or-treaters the choice, or ask if they have food allergies before deciding what to give.
