Beth Freehill, MS, RD, LD, received a Bachelor of Science degree in food science and human nutrition and a minor in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed her dietetic internship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association). Beth recently completed her Master of Science degree in health education. She completed Hy-Vee's health coach training at Des Moines University in 2009. Beth offers many nutrition services at Hy-Vee and is ready to help you with your nutrition needs.

Amanda Stecker, RD, LD, received a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Iowa State University, where she also completed her dietetic internship. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. As a registered and licensed dietitian, Amanda is able to provide assistance to customers with a variety of nutritional needs. She is passionate about educating others on the importance of nutrition. Amanda believes in helping people find simple and realistic ways to make healthy eating a part of your lifestyle. Her special interests include diabetes, weight management and nutrition education.

Hy-Vee One Step GardenHy-Vee One Step Garden Program

The One Step garden program takes place at your Clinton Hy-Vee each summer. The nutrition and garden-based program began in 2012 and is taught by Hy-Vee registered dietitians. The program consist of helping to maintain the garden, participating in food tastings and learning about healthy eating. Classes are held at Hy-Vee; a fenced, raised-bed style garden is located on the south side of the store. For questions about the program, please contact your Hy-Vee dietitians at 563-243-6162.

Personal Shopping Assistance
Walk the supermarket aisles with Beth or Amanda for an individual or group tour to discover healthy food choices. Beth or Amanda will answer any of your nutrition-related questions. Call Beth or Amanda at 563-243-6162 to schedule an appointment. Free!

Community Nutrition Programs
Beth or Amanda will come to your organization or business to present a nutrition program. Community programs can be tailored to the group's interest. Popular presentation topics include cholesterol-removing foods, simple secrets to a healthy weight, food label reading, super foods and more!
