So many of us have strong feelings about food. The question is: "Why is food so emotional?" The smell, taste and texture of food can stir up childhood memories, events and even specific feel-good emotions. Food is the link that connects complete strangers together because cooking for and feeding someone is one of the sweetest gestures in the world.

Chef Scott would like to help you create lasting memories with your next meal! Originally from Brookings, South Dakota, Chef Scott attended South Dakota State University where he first started learning about his passion for food. He eventually moved to Texas where he graduated ,with honors, from the Texas Culinary Academy. After graduation, he worked in Austin, Texas with a French chef and author, Alain Braux. Following his tenure with Chef Braux, Chef Scott opened his own recognized business in Austin known as "Onion Creek Bakery and Cafe," specializing in European delights.

After spending almost 20 years in Texas, Chef Scott decided to return to South Dakota to share what he had learned. Chef Scott will be working with the Empire Hy-Vee to create cooking classes, food demonstrations and our very popular $5 gourmet meals. If you have a desire to learn more about cooking, stop by and say "Hi" to Chef Scott and ask questions! He looks forward to helping you create lasting memories with quick and easy meals that will enlighten your palate!
