This is an update to information provided last week regarding a major recall of eggs from Wright County Egg of Galt, IA.
A second producer, Hillandale Farms, has announced a recall of 170 million eggs produced at farms in Alden and West Union, Iowa. These eggs were shipped to retailers, distribution centers and food service companies in 14 states. Hillandale Farms obtained hens and feed from the same company that owns Wright County Egg.
Please note that our Hy-Vee distribution facility does NOT purchase eggs from either Wright County Egg or Hillandale Farms. As far as we have been able to determine, none of the eggs affected by either recall were distributed to or sold in Hy-Vee stores.
