Flat Iron Steak with Sweet Bourbon Glaze


  • 1 flat iron steak
  • 2 tablespoons Hy-Vee Grand Selections garlic olive oil
  • all-purpose seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 sweet onion, thinly cut
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup straight bourbon whiskey


Rub steak with olive oil and seasoning; place on grill and cook to desired level of doneness.

Place butter in saucepan; add thinly sliced onion. Cook until caramelized or golden brown. Add brown sugar and whiskey and cook until reduced to half.

Cut steak across the grain and place on platter. Pour glaze over steak and serve.

Goes great with a baked sweet potato and a crisp green salad!
