Come join Charles City Hy-Vee Dietitian Julie Mayhew and ISU Floyd Count Extension Program Assistant, Jill McKeen, for a gardening class, Thursday, September 22nd, from 4:00-5:00pm. This class will be geared towards Kindergarten through 4th grade, but the whole family is welcome. We will harvest produce, weed and water the garden at the Hy-Vee Gas Station, use our harvest to make a delicious vegetable pasta salad and learn about the programs available through ISU Extension Family Nutrition Program. We will meet in the Hy-Vee dining room and parents are welcome to stay! Wear clothes you can get dirty and bring gardening gloves if you have them. Cost is $5/child and sign-up is in Customer Service at Hy-Vee or email [email protected].
