Cooking for a Cause: Plant-Based Cooking!

Date: 2/20/2020
Time:  6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Type: Cooking Class
Location: Milan Hy-Vee Conference Room

Cooking for a Cause classes are led by Nina, Milan Hy-Vee’s store dietitian, and feature a local non-profit organization at each class. Classes provide cooking demonstrations and a small meal to participants as well as information and networking with our local organization. All proceeds from this event will be donated directly to our cause.

This month’s cause is Transitions Mental Health Services. “Transitions Mental Health Services is a community-based not-for-profit, which provides Psychiatric, Therapy, Counseling, Employment, Residential and Youth Services to persons with mental health challenges, their families and the general community. Our goal is to provide everyone we serve with the tools necessary to live a productive, safe, independent, healthy and satisfying life.” To learn more about this cause, visit their website at https://www.transmhs.org/ or their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TransitionsMentalHealthServices/

Class will start with a demo (and sample!) of Gin Ginger Beet Cocktail with Thyme while participants learn more about Transitions Mental Health Services. Class recipes will focus on Plant-Based Eating and include: Cucumber Greek Salad, BBQ Cauliflower Wings and BBQ Lentil Meatballs.

We will also have a small tasting of *NEW* plant-based products available in our HealthMarket!

Each person will receive 2 bottles of choice of our vendor spotlight Jaymo's Sauces (included in two of our recipes!) as well as a goodie bag filled with other samples and coupons.

$20 per person. Pre-registration is required. To register and pay for this event visit: http://milanhy-vee.eventbrite.com

If you have any questions prior to the class, please contact Nina directly by phone at (309) 787-0273 or [email protected]
