Healthy Holidays Wine & Appetizer Class

Celebrate your health this holiday season with your Hy-Vee Dietitians Nina and Katie in the comfort of your own home! We will be making three healthy holiday recipes: Pear-Pomegranate Salsa, Chicken Meatballs in a Tangy Cranberry Sauce, and Raspberry Dark Chocolate Delights. Registration required.

To make these recipes with Katie and Nina you will need the following:

For the Pear-Pomegranate Salsa:
-2 pears, cored and diced
-Arils of 1 fresh pomegranate
-Half of 1 red onion, finely diced
-½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
-Splash of fresh lime juice
-Blue corn tortilla or pita chips
-Prosecco sparkling wine (optional)
-Cutting board
-Bowl filled with water
-Mixing bowl

For the Chicken Meatballs in Tangy Cranberry Sauce:
-1 lb ground Smart Chicken™ breast
-½ cup Hy-Vee seasoned breadcrumbs
-1 Hy-Vee egg
-1 can (8 oz) Hy-Vee whole berry cranberry sauce
-1 can (8 oz) Hy-Vee tomato sauce
-2 tbsp horseradish
-1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-1 tbsp lemon juice
-Red Blend wine (optional)
-Mixing bowl
-Measuring spoons
-Stove top

For the Raspberry Dark Chocolate Delights:
-1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
-1 (19oz) package Athens pre-baked mini Phyllo shells
-1 carton Chobani non-fat raspberry yogurt
-15 fresh raspberries
-Cabernet Sauvignon (optional)
-Microwave safe bowl
