    16 oz. Italian-style smoked sausage, cut into 1/2-inch slices
    ½ c. chopped red onion
    1 c. chopped green bell pepper
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    ¼ c. red wine or water
    1 (26 oz) jar Hy-Vee traditional pasta sauce
    1 (16 oz) pkg Hy-Vee spaghetti
    ½ c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese

    Directions

    1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage 8 to 10 minutes or until cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.
    2. Saute onion, pepper and garlic in pan for 3 minutes or until tender. Return sausage to the pan and add wine. Cook 2 minutes or until wine has evaporated.
    3. Add pasta sauce and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    4. Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package directions; add to sauce and toss with Parmesan cheese.
