2 ¼ c. all-purpose flour | ||
2 tsp. baking powder | ||
½ tsp. salt | ||
¾ c. butter | ||
1 c. granulated sugar | ||
2 large eggs | ||
2 tbsp. 2% milk | ||
1 tsp. vanilla | ||
4 ⅔ c. crushed cornflakes cereal, divided | ||
1 c. chopped nuts | ||
⅓ c. finely chopped maraschino cherries | ||
15 maraschino cherries, cut in quarters |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside
- In large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs and beat well.
- Stir in milk and vanilla.
- Add flour mixture and 2 2/3 cups cornflakes. Mix well.
- Stir in nuts and chopped cherries.
- Shape by teaspoonfuls into balls.
- Roll balls in remaining 2 cups cornflakes. Place on greased cookie sheets and top each cookie with a quartered cherry.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned.
