Sweet-and-Spicy Grilled Shrimp

All you need:

  • 1/3 c. Hy-Vee barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp Hy-Vee orange marmalade
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 pound wild-caught U.S.A. raw shrimp (16-to 20-count), peeled and deveined
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water
  • 2 tbsp Hy-Vee Select garlic-flavored olive oil
  • 2 c. hot cooked Hy-Vee brown rice, optional

All you do:

  1. For sauce, in a small saucepan, stir together barbecue sauce, marmalade and cayenne pepper; set aside.
  2. Thread shrimp onto soaked skewers, leaving 1/4-inch space between shrimp. Brush each shrimp skewer evenly with olive oil. Grill 7 to 9 minutes or until shrimp turn opaque, turning once halfway through grilling.
  3. Stir barbecue sauce over low heat for 3 to 3 minutes or until melted. Place shrimp skewers on plates and drizzle with sauce.
  4. Serve with rice, if desired.
