Sausage Pasta Bake

All you need:

  • 1 (12 oz) pkg Hy-Vee penne pasta
  • 3/4 pound Italian sausage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 c. chopped red onion
  • 1 medium green pepper, seeded, chopped
  • 1 (26 oz) jar Presto pasta sauce
  • 1/2 c. Hy-Vee beef broth
  • 1/2 c. Hy-Vee half-and-half
  • 1 (8 oz) can Hy-Vee tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. Hy-Vee grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Hy-Vee Italian seasoning
  • 1 c. Hy-Vee shredded mozzarella cheese

All you do:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain.
  3. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, over medium heat, cook sausage until brown. Stir in garlic, onion, pepper, pasta sauce, broth, half-and-half, tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese, seasoning and pasta.
  4. Pour mixture into a 9-by-13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes or until bubbly.
