Meet Your Metrics Screening Tour

Hy-Vee, Inc. will provide 1,000 free biometric screenings at select Hy-Vee stores throughout its eight-state region as part of its “Meet Your Metrics” tour during National Cholesterol Month.

Hy-Vee's dietitian team will administer the free biometric screenings to customers at more than 60 Hy-Vee store locations. Appointments will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Customers should contact the participating Hy-Vee nearest them to schedule an appointment.

The following organizations helped make the screenings possible: Siete, Alaskan Seafood, National Watermelon Board, GFit, Vitamine and Performance Inspired. Here's what we want you to know about the importance of these brands:

  • Siete: This family-focused food brand makes products using healthy ingredients like avocado oil, cassava flour and whole vegetables. It offers a great variety of products that are made with both health and flavor in mind.
  • G-Fit: Your go-to sports hydration brand has come out with a new healthy hydration option called Gatorade-Fit. This sports drink is made without any added sugars or artificial flavors, sweeteners or colors. This tasty beverage contains great vitamins, minerals and electrolytes, with only 10-15 calories and 2 grams of sugar.
  • National Watermelon Board: Watermelon is a tasty and versatile fruit that can be consumed at any meal or snack throughout the day. Watermelon has great water content to help keep you hydrated, and it is also a good source of vitamins A, B6 and C. Did you know that 100% of the watermelon is edible? Food waste is zero with watermelon.
  • Alaska Seafood: Seafood is a great source of quality protein, and many types are also great sources of healthy fats. Alaska seafood can be incredibly versatile, cooked in many different ways and combined with many different flavors. The best part of consuming Alaska Seafood is that it is sustainably sourced. Alaska Seafood's long-term fisheries management practices ensure that this unmatched, delicious resource will be enjoyed for generations to come.
  • Vitamine: Shopping the vitamin aisles can be overwhelming and confusing. Vitamine Wellness was created to help individuals meet their health and wellness goals by simplifying a vitamin regimen perfect for each individual person. In this dietitian-led program, you can feel confident you are getting support from food and nutrition experts.
  • Performance Inspired Whey Protein: Performance Inspired Whey Protein contains 25 grams of protein per serving, plus it has probiotics and fiber to aid in digestion and keep you from feeling bloated. Try mixing it in oatmeal for a high-protein breakfast choice, adding it into a fruit smoothie for an antioxidant- and protein-packed snack, or mixing it with yogurt for an evening treat to aid in muscle protein synthesis overnight. No matter how you use it, you can feel good about giving your body the quality protein it needs.
Reduce Food Waste

Leftovers are a great way to use foods in your fridge that otherwise would go to waste. Try to plan one meal per week that involves leftovers.
