WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (May 7, 2019) — Hy-Vee, Inc. announces today that Stacie Nichols, employee benefits coordinator at the Hy-Vee Corporate Office in West Des Moines, has earned Hy-Vee’s Ronald D. Pearson Citizenship Award for her dedication to giving back to her community.

Nichols earned this honor by volunteering more than 250 hours of service through Hy-Vee’s Ronald D. Pearson Citizenship Program, which encourages full- and part-time Hy-Vee employees to give back to their communities through volunteer work.

“The Ronald D. Pearson Citizenship Program encourages employees to take their helpful smiles out of the store or office and into their neighborhoods to build stronger, more vital communities where we live and work,” said Kristine Jones, vice president of employee benefits for Hy-Vee. “We are proud of Stacie for exhibiting Hy-Vee’s core values of helpfulness, friendliness and dedication.”

Nichols volunteered with the Pleasant Hill Lions Club on a variety of projects over the last several years. She was recognized today in a ceremony at the Hy-Vee Corporate Office.

The Ronald D. Pearson Citizenship Program is named after Hy-Vee’s second chairman, CEO and president, Ron Pearson.
