Laura Merrifield, received a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in dietetics. She completed her internship at Veteran's Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines and Knoxville, Iowa. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the Iowa Dietetic Association. Begin - $99 per person
Begin is a ten-week lifestyle management program with an emphasis on weight management, fitness and eating for good health. Every session is led by Laura Merrifield, your Fort Madison dietitian - a true expert in healthy living. You will initially meet privately with Laura to set your personal goals. After that, you meet weekly in a group to learn about healthy lifestyles and encourage each other to begin to improve their choices. Freedom from Smoking - $99 per person
The American Lung Association and your Fort Madison Hy-Vee offers Freedom From Smoking®. This program teaches the skills and techniques that have been proven to help smokers quit. Nutrition/Diet Counseling - $50/hour - by appointment
Laura Merrifield, your Fort Madison Hy-Vee dietitian, is available for private nutrition counseling. Cholesterol Screening - $30

In minutes, this quick, easy screening will provide results including total cholesterol (LDL, HDL, and triglycerides), blood glucose, blood pressure, waist circumference, body fat and body water percentage, and body mass index (height and weight ratio).
