Sarah obtained her bachelor’s degree in nutritional science and dietetics from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She then completed her internship at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital near Chicago, Illinois. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association) as well as local state and city dietetics chapters.
Sarah has been a registered dietitian for over four years. She started her career working in Sioux City, Iowa for Hy-Vee before transferring to the West Broadway Hy-Vee in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Sarah is actively involved helping customers and community members improve their eating habits and overall health. She enjoys teaching cooking and weight-loss classes, giving nutrition presentations, nutritional counseling and healthy foods grocery store tours.
Sarah believes that taking a preventative approach with nutritious eating and physical activity can help keep the mind and body strong and healthy. Sarah believes that all foods can be enjoyed in moderation. Being healthy means having balance in all aspects of your life, including food. Small changes in diet and physical activity can produce tremendous results. Maintaining a positive attitude and outlook is key to success when it comes to making healthful changes.
