Amanda Jochum, RD, LMNT, obtained her bachelor’s degree in nutritional science and dietetics from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She then completed her dietetic internship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Amanda has a wide range of expertise, including weight management, diabetes, heart disease, food allergies and pediatric nutrition. She also provides assistance with planning and preparing healthy meals for families. Amanda was awarded the Nutrition Educator of the Year from the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council of Nebraska in 2008. Amanda sees the combination of nutrition promotion with a grocery store as an opportunity to provide “hands-on” nutrition and is available to provide realistic ways to make healthy eating a part of a person’s daily routine. Amanda is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association). Nebraska Dietetic Assocation as well as the Omaha District Dietetic Association. Amanda has been with Hy-Vee since 2006.

Meagan joins the 156th & Maple Hy-Vee Wellness Team as a second in-store dietitian. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nutrition, exercise, and health science and dietetics at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, she completed her dietetic internship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Nebraska. Meagan's background encompasses a wide range of experiences, which include working with a variety of school wellness programs and sports nutrition. She is also involved with the Healthy Initiative Movement for kids. Meagan believes that having a dietitian available in the grocery store setting provides a unique opportunity and valuable tool for guests starting or maintaining their healthy lifestyle "journey.” Meagan is continuing her education at UNMC, as she works to complete a Master's Degree in medical nutrition therapy. Meagan is also a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Nebraska Dietetic Association and the Omaha District Dietetic Association.

Under your Hy-Vee dietitian’s guidance, you’ll learn how to make healthy and realistic food choices for you and your family while reaching your nutrition goals.
She will customize a science-based nutrition program, individualized meal plan, teach you how to make life-long, healthy food choices and provide you with the tools and resources to make these habits work for a lifetime.
A nutrition counseling package includes:
• Comprehensive Nutrition Assessment – To provide your dietitian with your medical and nutrition background, your food likes/dislikes, allergies, intolerances and nutrition concerns to allow for your dietitian to customize a nutrition plan specifically for you.
• Complete Dietary Analysis – Describe your typical daily dietary intake to help design a plan based off your current eating lifestyle.

Cholesterol Screening - $25 Call for an appointment.
With a quick finger-stick, you can receive your total lipid panel (cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides) and blood glucose. For accurate results, please fast for 10 to 12 hours prior to the screening. Personal Metabolism Screening - $55 Call for an appointment.
Your metabolism is critical in determining how many calories your body needs in a day. This information can help support successful weight control efforts. For testing accuracy, please avoid eating, drinking alcohol, caffeine, smoking and exercise for 4 hours prior to screening. (Water is okay). Hemoglobin A1C Testing - $25 Call for an appointment. Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) testing is a measure of proper blood glucose control over a three-month period. Your Hy-Vee dietitians have the ability to check your HbA1C test with a small finger-stick. Your results will be given to you within 15 minutes.
