Alicia Aguiar, MS, RD, LD
Alicia is a native of western Nebraska and graduated with an undergraduate degree in nutrition and food service management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She pursued her Master’s degree in clinical nutrition from Rush University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, and remained in Chicago for six years, employed in the areas of food service and clinical nutrition management.
For the past 20 years, Alicia has worked in long-term care as a quality assurance consultant for care centers, assisted living and home care services owned by ABCM Corporation across the state of Iowa. For the past year, Alicia worked in the marketing division of the ABCM Corporation, developing ads, promotions and educational resources. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Kirkwood Community College since 1996, and teaches 10 undergraduate nutrition courses per year, as well as continuing education courses. Passionate about dietetics education, Alicia is an accreditation site visitor for the dietetics accrediting body, reviewing dietetics programs across the U.S. throughout the year.
Alicia is an avid runner and sings professionally. She loves exposing people to new foods or enjoying traditional foods in new ways.
