Amy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Iowa State University in 2003 and completed her dietetic internship at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in 2004. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Amy completed CDR Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management in November 2006.
Since her employment as a Hy-Vee dietitian in 2008, Amy has helped many customers make positive changes in their lifestyle. She encourages people to focus on making healthy lifestyle changes one step at a time. She believes the grocery store is the ideal environment and classroom for educating about healthy living because our health is impacted by the food choices purchased at the grocery store. Amy's goal at Hy-Vee is to increase awareness in the surrounding communtiy of the impact nutrition can have on disease prevention, well-being and quality of life.
Amy offers a wide range of services for wellness, including weight management and healthy lifestyle programs, personal health assessments, personal shopping assistance, kids cooking club, healthy recipe demonstration and nutrition consultations specific to individual dietary needs.
