Chrissy Watters, MS, RD, LDN, is the registered dietitian at the Rock Island Hy-Vee. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in food and nutrition at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Chrissy then obtained her Master of Science degree in nutrition at Eastern Illinois University, where she also became certified as a Nutrition Education Specialist. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Chrissy is available at your Rock Island Hy-Vee five days a week to help you lead a healthier life.
Chrissy participates in a number of events in and out of the store, so her schedule is always changing. Need help with your special health or dietary needs? Come to Hy-Vee and Chrissy will help you develop a nutrition plan for weight loss, heart disease and other issues. With referral from a physician, your Hy-Vee dietitian will meet with you individually to develop a personalized plan, with achievable goals, to address your nutrition-related concerns.
Shopping Assistance for Health with Your Hy-Vee Dietitian

Take a walk through the aisles with your Hy-Vee dietitian to find health-promoting foods that appeal to you, receive ideas and recipes for how to enjoy these foods, or review the basics on understanding Nutrition Facts labels. Learn how to enhance your health by putting favorable foods in your shopping cart…and in your body!
Nutrition presentations are great for employee wellness programs, schools, churches and more. Chrissy will come to your business or organization to present a nutrition topic designed for your group’s interests. Popular topics include diabetes, quick and healthy cooking, packing a healthy lunch, shopping on a budget, “superfoods” and lowering cholesterol. Chrissy will bring education materials, recipes and food to sample.
Nutrition for Kids
Chrissy has a variety of options available to teach kids of all ages about nutrition. Options include kids’ cooking classes, store scavenger hunts and tours, school presentations and private group events. Contact Chrissy for more information.
