Is sugar making you fat? On average, Americans consume more than 22 teaspoons of added sugar per day! New studies show a link between sugar intake and weight gain and the development of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Nina, Milan Hy-Vee’s store dietitian, will provide science-based nutrition recommendations to help you become a sugar detective and identify added sugar in your diet. Learn about more natural sugar alternatives and what the term “sugar-free” really means. Samples of recipes and products will be included.
All participants will leave with recipes, handouts and a coupon for 10% your next HealthMarket purchase.
