Walk with the dietitian as she teaches you about a new nutrition topic each week! We will walk the neighborhood surrounding the store. Class will last for 30 minutes and be approximately one to 1-1/2 miles in length. Each session will start promptly at 4:30 p.m. at the Redbox in front of the store.
Cost: $10/session. Or, sign up for all eight weeks at once and earn $0.30 per gallon.
September 9 – Pre-Diabetes: Learn the basics of eating to control your pre-diabetes and prevent the progression to full blown diabetes.
September 16 – Weight Loss Basics: Get a crash course in eating to achieve a healthy weight (hint: no dieting is involved).
September 23 – Heart Health: Learn which foods can help keep your heart healthy and which you need to keep to occasional treats.
September 30 – Carbs, Fats and Proteins: Are any of them bad? And, how much of each to eat.
October 7 – GMOs, Pesticides and Food Additives: What are these and should I be concerned?
October 14 – Supplements: Learn which supplements may be beneficial, which are a waste of money and how to pick out quality products.
October 21 – Grains – Friend or Foe? You may have heard that grains or gluten are bad, but are they? Learn the pros and cons of eating grains.
October 28 – Cancer Prevention: Learn how what you eat can either increase or decrease your risk for cancer.
Rain-Out Plan: If it happens to rain on any of the class days, we will do a store tour inside instead of our outdoor walk.
