Come to Lowe Park (4500 N. 10th St., Marion) at noon on the third Tuesday of the month for a FREE nutrition education session with Martha Harrouff, MPH, RD, LD, your Marion Hy-Vee Drugstore dietitian. Presentations will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes and include information, handouts, a time for questions and food samples as appropriate. June's topic is food allergies.
Have you or someone you love recently been diagnosed with a food allergy? Unsure of how to read nutrition labels for these allergens and maintain a healthful diet while avoiding problematic foods? Martha will help you wade through the vast food allergy information available and answer your nutrition questions regarding fructose, gluten, and lactose intolerances, in addition to Celiac disease.
Program partners include Marion Parks & Recreation, Witwer Center Aging Services and Marion Hy-Vee Drugstore.
