Stoke Detection Plus; a mobile vascular screening company, uses ultrasound technology to find blockages in the body’s blood vessels that could lead to a stroke. Stroke Detection Plus screens the carotid arteries looking for plaque buildup or blockage.
The second test looks for aortic aneurysms, which are enlargements of the vessel that feeds the lower extremities with blood. The third test is for peripheral vascular disease, which is blockage in the arms and legs. An abnormal result here puts people at a 4-6 times greater risk of coronary artery disease.
The final screening is for osteoporosis, which looks for low or abnormal bone mass. The screenings are super-easy, painless, and take approximately 30 minutes for all 4 screenings. All participants receive preliminary verbal results the day of the screening followed by written results within 14 business days in the mail after they have been reviewed by a state-registered radiologist.
All participants found to have abnormal results are advised to seek further evaluation from their primary care physician for additional testing and treatment. All these participants will also receive a phone consultation from Stroke Detection Plus' registered nurse.
