About the Iowa Food & Family Project

The Iowa Food & Family Project champions the continuous improvement of Iowa's farm families and their dedication to providing wholesome food for everyone. It invites Iowans to become better acquainted with the dedicated farmers who grow their food and more trusting in how food is grown. The Iowa Food & Family Project involves nearly 40 dedicated partners and proudly serves as presenting sponsor of the Iowa Games and supporter of Live Healthy Iowa.

About Kristin Porter, blogger of Iowa Girl Eats

Kristin Porter is a busy wife, new mama and blogger. Kristin started the recipe blog Iowa Girl Eats in 2009 and has been cooking and writing ever since. Kristin enjoys cooking for people around the world through her blog, sharing fresh, family-friendly and in-season recipes, while sharing a bit about her family and home life, too. For Kristin, food is much more than a meal on a plate; it creates connections and memories that last a lifetime.

About Cristen Clark, blogger of Food & Swine

Cristen Clark is a sixth-generation farmer, mother of two, contest cook/baker and blogger. Along with her husband, Cristen owns modern pig finisher barns, growing pigs from 50 pounds to market weight. Her family also raises breeding pigs for their children to show in livestock shows. Cristen has a passion for baking and enjoys teaching others, especially sharing old-fashioned kitchen know-how to children. Cristen began her blog to preserve contest-winning recipes, heirloom family recipes and the memories that accompany them. In addition to sharing recipes, another blogging goal was to feature modern-day agriculture and the innovations that will help farmers grow and produce more food using fewer resources than ever before.
