Did you know there are over 170 kinds of edible flowers you can find in the United States? Try them out for yourself with Chef Elizabeth. She’ll show you which flowers are edible, how to use them, where you can purchase them and tips for growing edible flowers at home. Start out with a light and colorful salad using fresh blooms, then learn how to make a refreshing drink of lavender lime iced tea to go with it. Enjoy sautéed broccolette and roasted fresh artichokes with a white wine/marigold butter sauce. Next, enjoy risotto alla Milanese, a creamy Italian rice dish made with saffron. End the night on a sweet note, with an elderflower flip and sweet hibiscus mousse made with whole hibiscus flowers. All recipes in this class are gluten-free.
