Impress your family and guests with flambé (flaming) dishes from appetizer to dessert. Few dishes look so complicated yet are as deceptively easy and delicious as flambé.
Join Chef Dave Dettman, Kirkwood culinary instructor, as he shares tips and recipes for successfully preparing flaming sauces - and since you can’t flambé without alcohol, Luke French, sales manager for Cedar Ridge Vineyards Winery & Distillery LLC., will pair Cedar Ridge Iowa bourbon whiskey, apple brandy and dark rum with Chef Dave’s recipes.
You will learn to make these attention-grabbing delights: Flaming Bourbon Meatballs , Pork Normandy (pork tenderloin medallions, apples and sweet onions topped with flaming apple brandy cream sauce) and Irish Banana Flambé ( bananas in a flaming dark rum sauce) served over Bailey’s Irish Cream ice cream. You will sample all of the dishes and flambé your own dessert. Seating is limited. Pre-registration required. Must be 21 & over to sample alcoholic beverages.
