Q: What does it cost to sign up for the Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM program?
A: It’s a free membership. No purchase necessary to join.
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Brochures with Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM Cards are available at the Customer Service Counter of your local Hy-Vee store. You can also sign up or activate your card here.
Q: Can I add another card to my account?
A: Additional cards with the same account number are not available. However, multiple cards with different account numbers may be linked together to accumulate discounts. Discounts earned by the aggregate of all linked cards may only be redeemed in one redemption transaction subject to the terms and conditions of the Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM program. To link multiple cards please request an additional card with brochure in-store or online and, with additional card(s) in-hand, contact Hy-Vee Customer Service at (800) 232-2580.
Q: How do I update my phone number and account information
A: You can update all your contact information through your My Hy-Vee account. If you’re unsure of your account password, enter your email associated with the card and click forgot password. You may also contact Hy-Vee Customer Service at (800) 232-2580.
Q: How do I earn discounts?
A: Once you have activated your Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM Card, buy products that are listed as Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM items in the weekly ad and marked with shelf signs throughout the store. When checking out, swipe your Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM Card before paying to load the discounts to your card.
Q: How do I find products with a Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM Discount at Hy-Vee?
A: Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM items change out weekly in Hy-Vee’s ads. These ads are found online and at the store starting the week of December 5th. Items are marked at the shelf with a Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM sign.
Q: How many items can I purchase to get a discount?
A: There is no limit. If an item is marked as a 5¢ per gallon discount, you may purchase 5 of the same item and receive a 25¢ per gallon discount. If the price and discount is for multiple items like 2 for $5 cost with a 6¢ per gallon discount, you must purchase 2 items to receive the full discount. If only one item is purchased, the discount is 3¢ per gallon.
Q: If the offer is for multiple purchase items, do I have to purchase that entire quantity to earn a discount?
A: No. If the discount offer is for multiple items, but you purchase fewer than the number of items specified in the offer, your earned discount will be a fraction of the value of the advertised discount offer. The discount is determined by multiplying the full value of the advertised discount offer by a fraction; the numerator is the number of discounted items purchased, and the denominator is the number of items required to be purchased to earn the full value of the advertised discount. For example, if the advertised discount offer is 10¢ per gallon for a purchase of 10 like items, you must purchase all 10 like items to receive the full 10¢ discount. If only three like items are purchased, the discount would be 3¢ per gallon.
Q: How do I know what my total earned discount is?
A: After scanning your Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM Card and purchasing items, the discounts earned from that shopping trip, plus a total of all current available discounts will appear on your receipt. You can also check your earned discount balance online here or by calling Hy-Vee Customer Service at (800) 232-2580.
Q: Where do I redeem my Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM Discount?
A: Go to any Hy-Vee Gas, Casey’s or participating Shell station to receive your discounted fuel. Use our gas station finder to locate the nearest Hy-Vee gas station.
Q: How do I redeem my discounts?
A: Swipe your Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM card before pumping your fuel and watch the price roll down at the pump.
Q: What if I lose my card?
A: To report a lost or stolen Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM Card please call (800) 232-2580.
Q: What are the expiration and limitations of discounts?
A: Discounts expire 30 days from purchase of each Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM item. There is a limit of 20 gallons per use and discounts can only be used with one vehicle in a single redemption transaction.
Q: How many times can I use my card to redeem discounts?
A: Your balance is automatically reset to zero when you redeem your Hy-Vee Fuel Saver™ discounts at the pump, regardless of the number of gallons purchased. Once you make additional purchases of Hy-Vee Fuel Saver™ items, the new discounts will load onto your Hy-Vee Fuel Saver™ Card and can be used until expiration 30 days from date of purchase of each Hy-Vee Fuel Saver™ item.
Q: What if my discount earned exceeds the price of fuel, can I get my fuel for free?
A: Discounts shall not reduce the price below a minimum per gallon price ranging between $0.019 and $0.109 depending on the type of fuel dispenser being used. If discount earned exceeds the current price per gallon of fuel minus $0.019 to $0.109 per gallon, the remaining earned discount will roll over and be available for use on a future redemption transaction prior to expiration 30 days from date of purchase of each Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM item. For example, if you have $4.00 per gallon in fuel discounts, and fuel is $3.509 per gallon but the pump can only roll down to a minimum of $.019 per gallon, you can redeem $3.49 per gallon in the current transaction and the excess discount of $.51 per gallon will remain in your account and can be used on a future redemption transaction prior to expiration of those per-gallon fuel discounts 30 days from date of purchase of each Hy-Vee Fuel SaverTM item.
Q: Can multiple cards be linked together to earn discounts?
A: Multiple cards can be linked to a single account to accumulate discounts. However, discounts you earn may still only be redeemed by one vehicle per redemption transaction and your balance will be reset to zero once discounts have been redeemed.
