We finally made it. It’s peach season. There’s nothing quite like biting into a perfectly ripe peach and having those juices run down your arm. What’s there to know about peaches? Turns out, quite a bit. Thankfully for all of us, everything we need to know about picking peaches, storing peaches, preserving peaches and eating peaches can be found in one place.
Have you ever made homemade jam? It’s really not that hard and peach jam can be used in so many ways besides on a peanut butter sandwich. Use it to sweeten smoothies instead of sugar or honey. Add it to hot oatmeal or warm it slightly and spoon over ice cream.
Peaches can also be used in savory dishes. They love hanging out with pork chops and with chicken. We love grilling peaches and adding them to a salad for a kick that’s a little smoky and a little sweet. But maybe our favorite way to use peaches is in a freshly blended margarita. To prevent it from getting too sweet, we added a slice of fresh jalapeno. It’s a delicious way to celebrate summer.
