My friend, who has a similar problem, recommended this brand to me, but I wanted to get some advice first. Much appreciated!

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends eating 2 servings of fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, herring, lake trout, sardines and albacore tuna) per week. Consuming omega-3s through your diet is preferred over taking a supplement. Other sources of omega-3s include nuts & seeds (such as walnuts, flaxseed and chia seed) and vegetable oils (e.g. canola, soybean, flaxseed/linseed and olive).

A fish oil supplements may be a good alternative to getting more omega-3 fats in the diet. The American Heart Association recommends at least 500 mg DHA and EPA from fish or supplements for most Americans, and 1,000 mg for people with pre-existing heart disease. Taking a fish oil supplement may have side effects and may interact with medications, so always check with your physician before using omega-3 supplements.  Also remember to purchase a supplement with the USP seal (United States Pharmacopoeia), to assure dose and active ingredients.
