I'm Pre Diabetic and have been battling my weight my whole life.
My question comes in 2 parts:
1. The only diet that has worked for me is a high protein and very low carb diet (under 25g a day) carb diet, but it is very hard to keep up with, but it has been the only diet to show progress. Even if I restrict my calories, unless I cut out all carbs I can't lose weight. Also I have a hard time resisting cravings when I'm hungry.
What kind of diet would work better and be a little easier? Would I be better off doing a strict 1,800 calorie diet?
2. Because I'm carrying so much extra weight, exercise is hard. I dislike gyms, so I try to work out at home. What are some cardip exercises that are easy for at-home, and won't be impossible for over-weight people to accomplish? (such as: jumping jacks and burpees are hard)
