Doctor’s CarbRite Diet of New Brunswick, NJ has issued a voluntary nationwide recall for all lots of the 2 oz. Chocolate Brownie Doctor’s CarbRite Diet Bar missing the following allergen statement: “Allergy Alert: Made on equipment that also processes soy, milk, egg, peanuts and tree nuts.” The absence of this warning is cause for concern, since people with allergies or severe sensitivities to these allergens run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the products. Several Hy-Vee stores carry these diet bars in the HealthMarket department. If you purchased any of the unlabeled products at Hy-Vee, you can return them for refund or replacement. The recall applies only to the Chocolate Brownie flavor of Doctor’s CarbRite Diet Bars.
